BSc Nursing

B.SC. Nursing program aims to prepare competent Bachelor of Science nurse graduate to function independently or in collaboration with multidisciplinary health team members in the care of individual, family, group, and community regarding preventive, promotive, curative, and rehabilitative aspects of health.

Graduates function on the basis of the human healing process, holistic approach, and PHC perspective in nursing practice, education, administration and research.

The objective of BSc (Nursing) Program in brief is to ensure usage of professional equipment and tools for collecting data, interpreting them, and also in decision making from the fact of medical health of the patient. Be engaged in inter-professional activities of Nursing and forging on improving quality of health care systems and safety benchmarks.

On completion of the course the graduates will be able to:

  • Work competently and collaboratively as a team member in different types of health organizations.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues and health team members.
  • Participate in different health care settings providing competent nursing care to the individual, family, and community.
  • Provide guidance and supervision for staff, students, and other members of the health team in the working environment.
  • Utilize the scientific principles, knowledge, and skill in planning nursing care as a team leader.
  • Identify the learning needs of staff, students, and also the client, family, and community, demonstrate the teaching skills accordingly in formal and informal settings.
  • Conduct and participates in research activities for the development of the nursing profession as well as individual development.

Internship Students are required to, upon the successful completion of their training; render their services to the institution for a stipulated period of time 

The teaching methodology includes tutorial classes, lectures, simulator-based learning, PBL, clinical postings, presentation, research, observational training and thesis submission in accordance with the curriculum issued by Kathmandu University. Aside from the curriculum, we have co-curricular activities. The sports and cultural programs help students grow physically and socially. We provide different health related trainings to our students and faculty by inviting national and international experts. These types of trainings add value to our graduates’ employability. Therefore, cent percent of our graduates are consumed in the market immediately after the graduation.

Candidate must have passed 10+2 Science from recognized institute securing at least 50% marks in aggregate with major subject as Biology. Students for the program are selected according to the merit list of entrance examination conducted by Medical Commission of Nepal.
